This all began with the Aurora Borealis. Originally from the Boston area, I saw the lights for the first time in 2004 in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was one of the most powerful storms in almost twenty years, and what ultimately drew me to photography. Since moving to Marquette Michigan, I have been learning all I can about night photography and chasing the dream of capturing as intense a storm as the one in 2004. Conditions are often challenging, with below freezing temperatures, blowing snow, staying up into the early morning hours before sunrise, and the difficulty of predicting aurora activity. None of this dampens my enthusiasm! While I have branched out into daytime photography, low light and night photography have captured my heart forever.
